SXL 2172 UK HEAR !! Brahms Piano concerto No.1 LSO KATCHEN / MONTEUX VG+++/VG+

Description

SOUND SAMPLE AUTO STARTED WHEN YOU OPENED THE PAGE, TURN UP THE VOLUME... and have a READ .

1D/2D STAMPERS EARLY STAMPERS 1ST PRESSING

SOUND SAMPLE GUIDE, THE OPENING OF EACH SIDE

Side B is first FOR THREE MINUTES, THEN SIDE A FOR 3 MINUTES.

THE EDGE OF EACH SIDE is sampled due to being where most needle drop, or damage from scratches is most likely,  IF YOU INTEND TO BID, MAKE SURE YOU TAKE THE SIX MINUTES TO LISTEN TO ALL OF THE SAMPLE TO SATISFY YOURSELF IF THE LIGHT STATIC ON SIDE B OPENING IS SATISFACTORY TO YOUR REQUIREMENTS. THERE IS SOME SMALL MARKS HARD TO SEE ON FIRST INSPECTION, ON THE RECORD SIDE B, THAT MAKE VERY SMALL PIPS, SO IT LOOKS GREAT BUT ISN'T PERFECT. THE ONLY REAL REPETITIVE LIGHT TICS FROM AN ALMOST INVISIBLE SMALL MARK, IT IS IN THE SOUND SAMPLE RIGHT AT THE START , THAT'S WHY i START WITH SIDE 2. PIPS LAST FOR ABOUT 20 REVOLUTIONS. THE REST OF THE RECORD PLAYS VERY CLEANLY ONLY OCCASIONAL UNREPETITIVE PIPS, ONLY HAS SUNLIGHT VISIBLE PAPER SCUFFS.

SOUND SAMPLE IS LOW RESOLUTION AND HAS A TREBLE BIAS, SO SOME CRACKLE IS MORE PROMINENT THAN PLAYED ON GOOD SYSTEM. NO THIS 192KBPS SAMPLE IS NOT HIGH QUALITY, JUST PROVIDED TO GIVE AN IDEA OF ANY AUDIBLE FAULTS, WHICH ARE FEW WITH THIS LP

THIS SXL 2172 HAS ONLY ONE AREA OF VERY SHORT TICS FOR ABOUT 20

REVOLUTIONS, NATURALLY, (SAYS MURPHY'S LAW )THIS

WOULD HAVE TO OCCUR IN ONE OF THE QUIET SPOTS ON THE DISC........ so I put it in the sound sample it is JUST WHERE INTRO STARTS OFF THE RUN IN GROOVE, LEAD UP TO A MUCH LOUDER PART OF THE COMPOSITION.  SIDE 2, OPENING OF SOUND SAMPLE.

LP FIRST RELEASED 1959,  ON THIS FIRST , WIDE BAND GROOVED, "ORIGINAL RECORDING BY" AT 10 O'CLOCK UK PRESS DECCA

LABEL. Jacket is dated feb 1960 on lower scallop rear flipback seam.

PLAYLIST (London Symphony ORCHESTRA conductor pierre Monteux)

1. Brahms Piano Concerto No. 1

soloist Julius katchen

VG + LP (twenty tics)/ VG+++ cover

Full replay, THIS is VISIBLY, very clean,

short section with tics for about TWENTY revolutions,

(in the sound sample)

Only a few  fine marks at that section, but I couldn't

get them to show in a photo,

the small marks causing the tics, otherwise only a few paper scuffs visible in Sunlight only.

HENCE THE VG+ RATING

COVER CONDITION   VG+++There is light ring wear, IN REFLECTED LIGHT ON THE DARK COVER PARTS and it is quite neat. No seam splits  Only minor blemishes are -

1.VERY SMALL CORNER ROUNDING

2. A FEW VERY SMALL CRACKS IN LAMINATE NEAR EDGES DUE TO BEING FLEXED WITHOUT THE RECORD INSIDE.

LP CONDITION VG+ SEE Photo's,Has just a few faint spider web scuffs only in sunlight, play test has only TWENTY  OR SO REPETITIVE VERY LIGHT TICS IN OPENING COUPLE OF MINUTES ON SIDE 2, INfrequent STATIC pips and tics  MOSTLY NEAR THE START OF EACH SIDE, THE REST as per normal vinyl replay BEAUTIFUL, AND THE DYNAMICS ARE GREAT

Yes I have  fully test played this after professionally washing it, AND I HAVE SUPPLIED A NEW ARCHIVE QUALITY INNERSLEEVE BY MFSL TO MAINTAIN THE GREAT CONDITION THIS IS IN ,

ITEMS are located in AUSTRALIA, see further down for Australia Post Rates to your destination!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

USA buyers, due to recently enforced air security measures, please note if this is delivered to USA (or Territories) there is now a 9AUD (6GBP) handling surcharge PLUS the normal post charge (x ray search) so that is why postage to USA destinations is so expensive in the postage Tab!!!!

CANADA AND SOUTH AMERICA

WILL BE GBP12.95,  THE USA INVOICE SHOWS EXTRA 6GBP SECURITY CHARGE RELEVANT ONLY TO USA AND TERITORIES

Australian buyers can pay in AUD,

UK Buyers BE AWARE !! Post limit of 4GBP as stipulated by ebay, (even for overseas sellers) GOOD NEWS!! unlike other sellers I will only charge the 4GBP to Post it to you BUT BAD NEWS..... It will arrive via the same method as if it was posted in UK, by SURFACE MAIL, and as that involves a slow ship via China and other indirect world zones it may take upto 3 MONTHS  to get to you. There is an option on your UK invoice for Economy mail, which will be by Air Mail and therefore the regular 10-15 days, SO UNLESS you want to get it VERY SLOWLY.... I would strongly recommend paying the optional invoice amount of GBP15.60

IN CASE AN OVERSEAS BUYER PAYS THE INVOICE BEFORE I GET TO ADJUST IT IN LINE WITH THE CHART BELOW, A REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL FUNDS OR A REFUND IF OVERPAID WILL SOON FOLLOW!!!!!

Postage calculator NOT WORKING ACCURATELY when I live in Australia....... Item will be mailed from Australia, see list of world zones just below for air mail rate from Australia, do not pay automated ebay invoice (IF ONE ARRIVES) until receiving adjusted postage invoice.

They include  air mail rate(you pay)  + PACKAGING ($2 ).

Every 250 gm (extra auction wins) added to this win or others only adds a further $8.75 to the UK/Euro zone, only $6.75AUD to USA etc, and just $5.50 for Asian zone, so extra LP's are cost effective

NO..... I will not reduce the stated value of the LP on any customs declarations, Australia post bases its insurance on the declared value, so if I understate it I am at risk of losing its value should it go missing, You as a buyer are covered by paypal protection, so bid accordingly.

NO .... Paypal does not cover me if its not insured, I know I have looked into the situation EXTENSIVELY!!

RULES FOR BIDDING

DOES ANYBODY READ THIS?? I THINK NOT BASED ON RECENT BIDDING ACTIVITY ON MY ITEMS!! PLEASE READ...

If you have hidden feedback, or

less than 98% positive, or

less than 50 recent visible positives, (that's NEW EBAY registrations with little activity yet, that have proven your good buying habits)  THEN -

I would appreciate email contact first to establish your credentials.  Credentials mean that I need to know you will be paying with VERIFIED PAYPAL account, and I of course will only be mailing to that verified address. DON'T EXPECT TO GET MY PERMISSION IN THE LAST 2 HOURS OF BIDDING, DO IT BEFOREHAND. (Buyers who have had trouble free transactions with me already qualify of course, regardless of the feedback status)

Winning bids unpaid after 7 days will be reported as non paying bidder and item opened to second chance offer.

HAPPY BIDDING, QUESTIONS WELCOME

Check for Australia post cost and access to your country by emailing me or go to their web address and check it out  http://www1.auspost.com.au/pac/

Combined postage with other items welcome Please ask.

Combined purchases over $100AUD (60GBP) recieve FREE packing (it pays to Bulk Buy!!!)

IF insurance is required on any Missionselit purchases please be aware I CAN ONLY INSURE BASED ON THE CUSTOMS DECLARATION STATED VALUE, PLEASE BE AWARE SHOULD YOU BE LIABLE FOR ANY CUSTOMS ON A SECOND HAND LP IN YOUR COUNTRY, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT PAYMENT (UK, Sth Korea, Germanyand possibly Malaysia has this problem I believe). The need for me to cover  insurance for any loss in the postal service means  I will  not under any circumstances  understate the customs declaration value, for the above reasons.
