Rare Decca SXL 2249 NM- WBG label EXC++ 1961  cover!!

Professionally cleaned, treated with LAST Record Preserver and FULLY Test played. This is definitely the first  label for this LP ('Original Recording' at 10 o'clock also 1E/ 3E stampers)

Rated NM minus LP. Super quiet vinyl , no tics or pops noticed, only very very faint occasional static on track changes definitely like new in sound

Only downgraded due to yellowing on Laminated surfaces, (unlaminated rear is good!) Also small writing on side 2 track list by owner, almost not noticeable.

Rarely ever seen in Australia and without having to read my more elaborate report,

 (Visually,  LP EXTREMELY CLEAN, minor paper scuffs only in very bright sunlight, no sign of wear damage in FULL replay,)    LP test played after wet wash bath, treated with LAST.  'Last' record Preservative. (archive quality Vinyl preserver, said to minimise play related wear for upto 200 'plays')

This really is impressive, to listen to, I and my sound system and probably several neighbors were captivated/annoyed, (for the second time in a week after the 2020 Espana last week) depending whether you were me or a neighbour!!

This is the Highly sought after first label edition  played by Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Fritz Reiner.

LP Condition (see photo's) NM minus. I am listening to it to test play as I write this listing.  Only a few very light NON sounding paperscuffs in sunlight only, and beautiful, like new gloss on the vinyl. 

  Very minor Rotational spindle marks, indicating it has been played rarely.  Original FFSS lined sleeve is NMINT, but MFSL ANTI scratch/static sleeve included, to help preserve current condition

LP COVER

(see photo's) rated 'EXC+'.  ONLY DOWNGRADED FROM NEAR MINT DUE TO AGE YELLOWING ON THE LAMINATED SURFACES, BUT NOT YELLOWED ON THE UNLAMINATED REAR???? (VERY STRANGE) every other cover I have seen is yellowed on unlaminated card, not the laminated. A couple of recent auction sales show me other copies of this pressing cover tends to yellow, in the same areas, leading me to postulate that the lamination may have been put on too hot at printing, and 'burnt 'the cardboard OR the laminate causing it to yellow with age, and uniformly all over, not like being exposed in sections to bright light.  SEE PHOTOS of cover with no flash which when used on first photo, took out the yellowing.  If it wasn't for that, it would be no newer looking or sounding if you bought it from the music shop, in 1961 when issued. IT REALLY IS THAT GOOD. SUPER QUIET VINYL, WHICH IS VERY IMPORTANT DURING SIDE 2, WHICH HAS SOME QUIET MUSICAL PASSAGES ON.

Cover shows NO ring wear, all is visible in photo's, take my word for it, for 48? yrs old it is remarkably well preserved. (1961 on FLIPBACK COVER REAR REVIEW NOTES)

SLIGHT YELLOWING TO YELLOW REAR CARD, (especially in comparison to the laminated going VERY yellow.Very straight cover with no corner bends or seam splits

 FLIPBACK SEAM seems original, undamaged, and no signs of glue repairs etc
