Description

This is another sale from a my collection of classical records, which includes early stereo rarities on Decca, Columbia, HMV and RCA.

1961 UK stereo pressing on Decca records of SXL 2268 Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade and Borodin’s Polovtsian Dances performed by L’Orchestra De La Suisse Romande conducted by Ernest Ansermet.

This is a Decca wide band 1st label, grooved with "Original Recording By" at 10 O' clock  The matrix numbers engraved on the run-out are: ZAL 5039-1D & ZAL 5040-1D. The outer sleeve is a flip back sleeve, laminated on the front. The inner sleeve is period Decca ffss printed paper with polythene liner.

Grading

Visually graded the vinyl under a task lamp. Would grade the record visually as VG. Both side have faint light scratches and there are also some spider marks around spindle hole. Sleeve is Excellent, some creasing and the top flip back has slightly lifted on right hand side. It plays well on my Linn Sondek, no skips or jumps, very little crackle. Towards the end of side one there is a faint tick that lasts for 2 minutes.

Note that record will be posted in a cardboard record mailer. Sleeve will be in a plastic sleeve, separate from the record and inner sleeve. Record and inner sleeve will be in a card sleeve.

Finally, please note that the posting costs will be as follows
