Description

33rpm vinyl LP Record of SXL 2268 Rimsky-Korakov SCHEHERAZADE Borodin POLOVTSIAN DANCES, featuring Lorand Fenyves on solo violin with L'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande conducted by Ernest Ansermet and the Choeur des Jeunes and Choeur de Radio Lausanne conducted by Andre Charlet. It was issued on the stereo DECCA wideband grooved label in 1961 with 'Original Recording By' in the 10 o'clock position (ED1). UK pressing. Matrices 1D/1D.
The record itself is visually graded very good, with a number of light surface marks/scratches visible under normal domestic lighting. Methodically cleaned and then play-tested on an audio-technica turntable. Superb crystal clear sound quality for the most part with 6-8 soft tics early on Side 1 (NM- overall for the side) and 6 tics at the start of Side 2, another 6 a bit later then a couple of louder pops and a very occasional soft tic thereafter (EX+ for the side) - otherwise, the overall playback is pretty much crystal clear and plays much better than it looks.
Minimal to no spindle wear. Labels clean. Light spider marks.
The outer sleeve is graded very good with light handling, storage and age related wear. The pinched spine is intact and strong with no loss to the lettering. The inner sleeve has light age related wear - the record has been housed in a new inner sleeve to further preserve it.
