Description
SXL 2268 SCHEHERAZADE Ansermet OSR UK Decca 1D/1D WBG ED1
Rimsky-Korsakov: Scheherazade.
L'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande Conducted by Ernest Ansermet.Early UK pressed Decca stereo LP, SXL 2268.
Earliest wide band grooved issue with "Original Recording" perimeter text and earliest 1D/1D matrix suffixes.
Vinyl is still highly glossy and visually at least EX plus with no obvious marks.
Playback graded conservatively as VG, as a very slightly ticky issue. That said, this is infrequent enough not to be too distracting, and beneath this the sound is superb, with the early dynamic cut crisp, bright and loud, and free of distortion.
Labels are clean and undefaced.
Original inner sleeve clean and tidy, a little age toned.
External sleeve VG plus. The main panels of both sides are generally clean and tidy, although there is some age and ringwear toning to the rear panel. Fractional ringwear impression to front panel, only visible at certain angles. Seams are neat and tidy and spine in excellent shape, if slightly age toned.
Sleeve is a non-blueback with internal backflaps.
