Description

SXL 2268, Scheherazade, WBg ED 1, NEAR MINT, 1D/1D

Rimsky-Korsakov: Scheherazade

Borodin: Polovtsian Dances.

Ansermet and L'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande.

UK pressed Decca Records stereo LP, SXL 2268.

Earliest grooved wideband pressing with "Original Recording" perimeter lettering and 1D/1D matrix suffixes.

Vinyl in very clean near mint condition. Marks around the spindle areas suggests just one or two careful plays, and vinyl surfaces are free of any marks. Surfaces are clean and with a very high gloss still. Labels are clean and undefaced. Note that photo of actual vinyl shows a small white speck - this is NOT a mark on the surface!

Sleeve in mostly clean and bright condition. Seams and extremities are extremely well preserved, although the bottom backflap to rear has been reinforced with sellotape, which is starting to yellow with age. A few very light and minor darkening marks to top of front of sleeve. Else sleeve is still very bright and fresh looking, and has clearly been little handled and stored well. Predominantly white rear is still very bright and clean.

Lyric inner sleeve is original blue print Decca and in excellent condition.

All in all a very well preserved LP.
