Description
SXL 2296 FALLA ANSERMET Three Cornered Hat WB NON GROOVED Made In England TICKY
Falla, The Three Cornered Hat / La Vida Breve.
Ernest Ansermet and L'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande with Teresa Berganza.England pressed Decca Records stereo LP, SXL 2296.
Later non-grooved wide band issue with "Made in England" perimeter text and 5G/3G matrix suffixes.
A ticky issue and suitable as a shelf filler, although with a very nice condition original FFSS inner sleeve and fairly clean and tidy external sleeve.
Vinyl visually is very clean and bright with no noticeable marks. Looks close to near mint and spindle activity is noticeable but minimal.
Playback is ticky however. This is more prominent towards the first half of the sides and eases thereafter although is heard sporadically throughout. Background noise is not continuous - notably the separator band on side one is completely silent. Tickiness is at its worse at the beginning of side two where it does prove some annoyance to listening pleasure. With the exception of a single tick around the halfway point of the B side there are no loud or continuous ticks or clicks. By and large tickiness is well behind the music, especially at tuttis. The sound is still crisp and bold with the usual Decca dynamics and not distorted.
Labels are clean and unmarked.
Original FFSS inner sleeve EX.
External sleeve is front laminated with internal/hidden back flaps and matt rear panel. Front panel is bright and clean. Some tan pinch line creases lead in from spine area. Spine otherwise acceptably clean and tidy with legible print. Rear panel has slight grubbiness and ringwear impression but no prominent marks or stains. A very small "Memrydiscs" stamp to top right of rear panel.
