SYD BARRETT - 'BARRETT'

     On Offer is an LP that has been owned by me since it's very first release date in 1970 from my own Private Record Collection and has become VERY RARE!!!and Well sought after a Genuine and Original  100%UK 1970 1st Pressing on the Green Harvest Label  with 'The Gramophone Co Ltd' Text and No 'EMI Box Logo' on the Label (That's only present on the Earliest 1st Pressing) the  Cat No: SHSP 4007 of the UK 11-Track Stereo (There were NO Monos)!! Vinyl LP in an Original 'GARROD & LOFTHOUSE' Laminated Flipback Picture Sleeve Cover - Complete with the Original Harvest Picture Advert Inner Sleeve - The Record is Pressed on Original Heavy Thick Quality Vinyl and is in virtually Near Mint Condition and shows very few signs of being 39 years old  - The Cover Sleeve would be graded as Excellent - Unfortunately there is a very small scrape mark on the cover so I will grade it as a conservative Very Good plus - Overall this is still a Suberb and Seriously Very Rare and Hard copy to find and just never turns up for sale with the Vinyl in Near Mint condition that has the very 1st Pressing Matrix:

To Summarise and to explain the incredible differencies between this Earliest 1st Pressing and all Later Pressings!!! 

Firstly this LP has a 'Garrod & Lofthouse' Laminated Flipback Cover (Later Ones Haven't)  - Secondly this LP has NO 'EMI BOX' on the Label (Later Ones Do)  - Thirdly has 1st PRESS A-1G & B-1G Matrix Endings (Later Ones Don't)!!! Which makes this LP Even more Rarer than Ever because of the Earliest 1st Press Mother & Stamper codings of  1G / 1G  Clearly showing That this is one of the First 300 Copies Ever Pressed and now nearing nearly 40 years old - And near Impossible to Find one better in this Great condition!!

The Vinyl: Visualy looks only lightly played a few times very carefully and is in  excellent to near Mint looking condition -Vinyl looks virtually flawless - On close visual inspection on Side 1: it only shows one very small light hairline across the vinyl surface - Side 2: only shows also one very small light hairline across track 1 only and all the rest of tracks are  unmarked and shows No other actual scratches or other blemishes across vinyl surfaces the hairline marks have absolutely No affect during playback there are No pops, No sticking,No jumps and Barely any Crackle at ALL!!! and shows No other major annoying  noise deffects or distortions during playback - If being Ultra criticle the only time any light crackle is noticable is on the occasion when the very quiet track introductions start to play that you may get some very light crackle for a few seconds then disappears but nothing of any consequence - Labels are both  in Excellent clean unmarked condition - Vinyl still retains it's Original just pressed look with all it's lustre and Jet black glossy sheen 

On the recent Playback assessment the Record still Plays with all it's Original Dynamic and amazing original sound clarity and sheer quality of sound along with the fantastic stereo production that fills the room  Just as you would expect from a 1st Pressing!

 The Front/Back of Covers/Spine: Are Very Good or better in condition totally intact crisp and clean with very straight sharp edges - Showing all it's Original Vibrant Clear Sharp Colours - All writing down the pinched spine is excellent with very bold clear and legible writing - Absolutely NO tears,splits,ink marks or stickers -Apart from one small scrape mark the size of a small fingernail on the front top left hand corner ( I believe it was where a small square Record shop price tag resided when originaly purchased) also some very light edge and corner bump wear and a few light minimal creases on the surface of front laminated cover even the unlaminated back is in Very Good condition or better - All negligible wear which  has occurred been obtained during the storage process over it's 39 year lifetime - Overall a Brilliant Rare Copy!!! - This is mainly due to the plastic cover protection on Album since Day One!    

Labels: On examination there is some very light spindle trails and both labels are in Excellent clean looking condition with NO ink marks,blemishes or any other wear

Inner Sleeve:The original White Harvest Picture Advert Inner sleeve is in Very Good condition and  shows some light edge wear with a few light minimal creases and minor blemishes with  some unavoidable yellow ageing tinges - NO Tears or Splits 

      All of my records That I'm selling are from my own personel collection that I have collected for over 40 years and which have been generally kept and looked after to the highest standard.

I'm currently starting to sort through some of my other Rare vinyl records that have been played only a few times - which are mainly UK 1st  PRESSINGS - which are all in Excellent to Mint Condition - Mainly due to Covers/Vinyl have been kept in plastic covers for all of there Life Span this is one of them

Record Collector's Grading System:

MINT: The Record is in Brand New Condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The Cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet,booklet or poster are in Perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be MINT.  

EXCELLENT: The Record shows some signs of having been played,but there is very little lessing in sound quality. The Cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or Creasing.

VERY GOOD: The Record has obviously been played many times,but displays no major deterioration in sound quality,despite noticable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the Cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable.

Albums will be Protected in Plastic Covers - Bubble Wrapped - Packed Securely in High Quality Cardboard Record Box Mailers - With Fragile/Handle With Care Labels Stuck on to Help Prevent Any Damage - Never Had Any Buyer Complain of Damage to any of my Records on Arrival so far!!!
