Syl Johnson emerged on the R&B scene in 1968

with this his first Twinight release, Dresses Too Short

After the release of Is It Because I’m Black in 1970

Johnson moved to Hi Records

(best known for Al Green), where he recorded 3 LPs

and a number of singles

Following his stint with Hi Records

Johnson released three more albums

including his 1995 comeback album, Back In the Game
