Spoken word drives the structure on this new debut album from Manchester-based poet, writer and producer Antony Szmierek, with lines delivered in tight rhythmic phrasing over steady four-to-the-floor patterns. He balances that direct narration with functional club arrangements while keeping verses front and centre as synth chords and basslines cycle beneath. 'The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Fallacy' sets the template with clipped drums and melodic hooks that return in altered form across the record. Elsewhere, tempo drops allow for sparser instrumentation, with keys and pads supporting more reflective passages. The sequencing alternates between denser dancefloor sections and reduced interludes, so it always keeps you guessing.
