Description
Saint Etienne - The Trip. This much sought after, hard to find triple compilation album on vinyl is a collection of beautifully performed and orchestrated tracks by artists including Stevie Wonder, Ennio Morricone, The Mammas & the Pappas, The Supremes, John Martyn, Marvin Gaye and Serge Gainsbourg. These tunes are rare and very difficult to find on 45", hence this painstaking and lovingly curated package by the composers of beloved British dance pop band Saint Etienne, Pete Wiggs and Bob Stanley. Pete and Bob have curated and released a number of rare recording collections now, this being an early foray into this area for them. So rare are some of these tunes, Pete and Bob have had to acknowledge being unable to obtain the details of the repertoire owners! The Trip is a collection in the series of Family Recordings releases which include compilations collated by Dirty Vegas, Tom Middleton and Tim Love Lee.
All three albums in this wonderful triple set play absolutely fine - no scratches or jumps and have been well looked after. The outer sleeve has name and purchase date written on the inside - not visible externally. I am including a free protective plastic album sleeve (it's been in this for the 18 years I've had it.) This is a Saint Etienne fan and or rare northern soul lover's must-have item. May the most dedicated devotee bag this first.
