Description

My Kind Of Blues 1st 1961 UK 1st press on RCA. Matrix 1A/1A. Stampers 1B/1U [great audio provenance]. The labels mention 'recording 1st publishing 1961'. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original cover.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. I can't make out anything more than a couple of slight marks per side - nothing troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with super clarity. If you need evidence of why Cooke was so highly rated as a singer - this title is perfect the example of the heights he was hitting. Lovely clean rendition. Lots of warmth and presence. Very little background at all. Maybe just a few crackles in one isolated spot per side.
Cover (Vg) Not up to the standard of the vinyl, but acceptable. Clean front, but the lamination has come away down in the bottom right corner. The rear has avoided the worst of the ageing process - but a some evidence in places. All flipbacks are secure and intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
