Description
The experience of buying records on Ebay is ruined if, when they arrive, you discover that they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post! For this reason I describe all my items in detail, and only post using strong sturdy packaging in a 'box' mailer with the record outside the sleeve to avoid seam-splitting. They are also from a non-smoking and pet-free home.

Japanese 1980s vinyl releases are renowned for being pressed on high-quality vinyl, with lavish packaging, and issued in limited numbers; all of which have made them highly desirable amongst collectors and very difficult to get hold of. This auction is for an original 1984 Tokuma Japan release of 'Hand In Glove', with Sandie Shaw on vocals, and is complete with both its original beautiful red/white OBI strip and rare original Japanese paper insert with printed images and Japanese text (see photos). The standard 12" Japanese pressing appeared in the 2005 Record Collector Top 100 rarities article at number 44, and is a very highly-prized item indeed, but this copy is even rarer in that it is the scarce promotional version, which is distinguished by having a white/black 'SAMPLE' sticker in the top right corner of the outer sleeve and the Japanese promotional text/characters printed on the record labels (see photos). Such promotional Tokuma Japanese pressings rarely turn up for sale these days, and this one has survived in terrific collectable condition (see below).The vinyl and labels are in superb near mint condition, having been played just once or twice and having been extremely well looked after; there are barely even any 'hairline' superficial surface marks on the highly-glossy pristine vinyl. The outer sleeve is in strong excellent condition, with no marks or creasing and only some mild 'corner wear' on this superb sleeve. The sleeve would be graded higher, but for one seam split in the middle of the left hand edge of the sleeve when viewed from the front. The OBI strip is in near mint condition, with no marks, tears or creases. The rare Japanese printed paper insert is also in near mint condition, with no marks and no creases anywhere. A very nice promotional vinyl pressing indeed. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.
