SANDY DENNY "PASS OF ARMS" UK EP ISLAND WIP 6141 45 RPM SINGLE PICTURE SLEEVE
This is one of the holy grail collectibles for Sandy Denny and Fairport Convention fans: one of the very hardest to find Sandy tracks on vinyl. This was recorded in 1972 for the half hour prize-winning short film "Man Of Iron" and Sandy sings beautifully on two tracks: "Here In Silence" and "Man Of Iron". While the tracks were written by Peter Elford and Don Fraser, you could imagine that Sandy would have written the lyrics herself if she was describing chivalry and ancient knights. The third track is a spooky "Strange Meeting" narrative by Christopher Logue
The picture sleeve is in amazing shape: no wear or split seams - just some very minor wrinkling. The back of the sleeve has a nice photo of Sandy as well as the lyrics for the two songs. The pink rim Island labels are clean. The vinyl is VG as there is some surface noise but nothing overwhelming. No skips or warping. All in all, a must have for serious collectors.
