Sarah McLachlan Surfacing 1997 1st Press RARE VG/VG+.
For auction is a very good listeners copy of Surfacing by Canadian singer-songwriter, Sarah McLachlan. Her fourth studio album released in July 1997, was a success commercially and critically. It peaked at #2 in the US on
the Billboard 200 and topped the charts in Canada. It spawned 4 Top-30 hits in the US with, “Building A Mystery” (#13), “Sweet Surrender” (#28), “Adia” (#3) and “Angel” (#4), that all charted on the Billboard Hot 100. McLachlan received three Grammy nominations and won two. She took home the award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for “Building A Mystery” and Best Pop Instrumental Performance for “Last Dance”. The following year, the song Adia was nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance but lost to Celine Dion for “My Heart Will Go On”. Surfacing has sold 16 million copies worldwide, 8 million alone in the US certifying it 8x platinum. This copy is a 1st US press. There are similar original releases that are US/Canada presses.
Vinyl is play graded VG. A few barely noticeable surface marks. Side A label has some spindle wear. Record plays with mild background noise at times that is never overwhelming. No skips or jumps. Please see pics.
Cover is in VG+ condition. Some minor signs of shelf wear. Corners and seams are nice and title is perfectly legible. No splits. Very light ring wear and scuffing on front and back. On front, upper right side is a stain from price sticker. Super solid! Original inner sleeve is included but the disc is housed in a clear poly inner for protection. Please see pics.
