David Bowie Station to Station UK/Japanese? Mock Proof Sleeve - Glam. Condition is "Used". Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class.
Please read carefully this is not an original but is regarded as an Authentic Reproduction piece of Bowie Memorabilia as copied from an original as per John Larkin's Blog http://www.larkin.net.au/blog/2007/04/20/david-bowie-station-to-station-full-colour-artwork/ and the various debates that have taken place.

Here is a Mock Proof Colour LP sleeve for David Bowie's Station To Station - It is my understanding this was produced by UK dealer's back in the late 70's / 80's more than likely the latter for avid collectors who were lucky enough to purchase one at the time, as the original slicks are impossible to find and never surface, even these Mock Proof Sleeve's rarely surface as they are sought after.
The original full cover LP sleeve was designed and printed by RCA intended for the Station to Station LP, with full colour picture taken from The Man Who Fell to Earth movie, but then was suddenly deleted by RCA and totally scrapped before the official issue was made - which as we know was finally produced by RCA with only B&W artwork, perhaps to compliment the late B&W Thin White Duke.
The story goes that a few of the original rare colour LP sleeves were saved and exist now in only a handful of prized private collections around the world. The proof sleeves and slicks should have been destroyed and surviving copies are rated far more scarce than any early Bowie LP for example The Man Who Sold The World. As a result of RCA's last minute change of mind the original sleeves are considered to be a holy grail and a true gem amongst serious David Bowie collectors.

I purchased the copy for sale from the USA but believe that this is indeed a UK / Japanese mock ...
Nice collectable for David Bowie Collectors who will never have the opportunity to own an original.
