Description
Faraway Folk - Seasonal Man - Scarce Original RA LP!
A Great Addition To Your Folk Collection!
On offer here is an original copy of the classic folk album by Faraway Folk, Seasonal Man.
Released on the RA Records label in 1976.
Catalogue Number: RALP 6029.
This copy was a competition prize from local radio station Plymouth Sound.
It has been signed by two band members, Shirley and Mike.
Condition of record - Side A - A tiny bit of crackle at the start of track one, otherwise plays and looks Excellent.
Side B - Plays and looks Excellent.
Condition of sleeve - gatefold sleeve - overall very nice with only minute signs of any wear at the corners.
Front Cover - small sticker removal mark and small writing in top left corner.
Gatefold Centre - Fine, no marks.
Spine - Very faint 'Faraway Folk' written in pen on lower spine.
Back Cover - Has the words 'LP won on Plymouth Sound 12/76' at the top in pen and the bottom in pencil (could be rubbed out OK). Six of the tracks have a running time after them (this has come from a radio station, so that makes sense).
Two signitures, Shirley, who passed away from cancer in the late 1970's and Mike who is still around and helping local record dealer Peter Rice compile a complete history of Faraway Folk and the RA label. The signitures have been checked and they are spot-on.
You can see Peter's amazing efforts so far at this address; http://www.peterice.com/RA.htm
I'm sure I'll get many questions about this LP, but a common one is - Is there an insert? No, is the answer, it never officially came with one. Copies have surfaced with a small b + w photo of the band, sometimes signed. These are copies that were sold direct by the group at gigs and around local pubs in Devon.
A great chance to own a classic folk album with a couple of signitures to boot!
