Description
These records and covers will come to you covered in an archival sleeve from a non-smoker's home. The vinyl has been ultrasonically cleaned by the DeGritter.
The fragile paper covers are thinner than normal western album covers and has minor tears. See closeup pics. The cover is actually a single sheet of paper folded in half. The record has many scratches that will be audible. I like these records for their scarce curiousity, history from soldiers that loved them during conflict and carried them home thousands of miles.
These are very interesting collectables, more info on these 50 year old records follows. I picked these discs up decades ago near an Air Force base in central Arkansas. Here is interesting insight on these records usually bought during the Vietnam War Era by Soldiers/Sailors/Airmen/Marines according to Discogs:
Labels are from Taiwan and of doubtful legality. The labels catered between others, to US soldiers stationed in Taiwan in the 60's and 70s (but of course Taiwanese citizens bought them too). Covers were often photocopied from Japanese or US issues with altered colors. Many releases are on colored vinyl.
The release year can often be determined a number on the labels. The date format is: YY.MM.DD. Add 1911 to the year number for the release year. Sometimes the day is not listed but the same rules apply. If these numbers are not present, the release date should always be left blank unless stated on the front cover,
