Schubert Trout Curzon Vienna Octet UK Decca SXL 2110

 

Clifford Curzon and the Vienna Octet perform the Schubert “Piano Quintet” known as the “Trout”. An English stereo pressing on the Decca Label (SXL 2110), the labels have “Original Recording by…” at 10 o’clock, a Full Frequency Stereophonic Sound “fatband” and logo and a groove. The record is of poor appearance with numerous scuff marks, but surprisingly it plays and sounds superb with surface noise and occasionally muffled sound. The cover is worn with a ring creases and is grubby on the back.
