Schumann Brahms Dvorak Rendez-vous Fournier DGG
Entitled “Rendezvous Musicale with Pierre Fournier”, the cellist with Lamar Crowson plays encores with shorter pieces by Schumann (“Adagio & Allegro”), Saint-Saens (“The Swan”), Paganini {“Moses Variations”) and works by popper, Dvorak, Francoeur and others. A German stereo pressing on the Deutsche Grammophon Label (135 132), the record is of excellent appearance, and plays and sounds superb with a minimum of surface noise. The cover has rubbed with a few small creases.
