Description
A beautiful copy of Columbia SAX 2506, 'Blue and Silver' label, Robert Schumann's "Rhenish" Symphony (no 3, E flat major, op97) and Manfred Overture, with George Szell conducting the Cleveland Orchestra. The playing surfaces look immaculate and present a glossy, deep black patina. The record plays faultlessly - I have listened to both sides once. There are no perceptible signs of spindle marks on the labels (although the disc has undoubtedly been played prior to my test play). The flip-back sleeve is extremely clean with no tears, no sign of creasing, no ring wear, no damage or ruckling to the opening edges and very few marks or indentations of any kind. The lamination is undulled, and it is clear that the record has been stored properly. The original poly-lined paper inner sleeve has some corner ruckles, but is untorn, clean and basically flat (see photographs). NB - this item is listed without a reserve price. The record comes from the collection of a classical musical enthusiast who cherished his discs and cared for them in exemplary fashion. The disc will be removed from the sleeve prior to dispatch to prevent seam splitting in transit, and will be dispatched in substantial corrugated cardboard packaging.
