ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This lovely and extremely rare 10” gatefold limited edition LP specially pressed by Deutsche Grammophon (AS 1000, gray label, stereo) features Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra Concertmaster Michel Schwalbé in works for solo violin by Bach and Paganini, played on the King Maximilian Stradivarius (1709), recorded in Berlin in October and November 1973.

Niccolò Paganini: 3 Caprices for Violin Solo, from Op. 1

Had he desired a purely solo career, Michel Schwalbe could certainly have had it. He was a highly gifted violinist and this remarkable recital leaves one wishing to hear more by this fine master of the violin. Those who treasure the art of the violin, or who have a special admiration for the BPO, will find this a truly fascinating, and musically enriching disc.
CONDITION:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the gatefold jacket is EXCELLENT++. There is slight bumping/wear at corners, as well as some small instances of discoloration, but that is all. There are no bends, seamsplits, owners’ markings, or other defects, and the jacket remains solid, bright, and very attractive – overall, an excellent collector's copy.
The condition of the LP itself is near-MINT and the playback is outstanding – there are no tics, no surface noise, no spindle trails – overall, this rates as a truly fine collector’s copy.
