Description
THE AMAZING BEATLES & OTHER GREAT ENGLISH GROUP SOUNDS (Clarion 601 - STEREO) Factory Sealed. The shrinkwrap has opened 4.25" in the center of the open side. small opening on bk left btm corner & 1 & 5/8" bottom of spine. Btm left FC has small 'nudge'/minor ding on corner (shows less on BC). I am the original owner (and I am 69!!!). It is VINTAGE!! Check my Feedback! I do not see any inner sleeve through the gap in the seal. Listings and closed auctions I see show no (original) inner sleeve in their photos (and usually NO inner sleeve). DISCOGS says 1965. "The Amazing Beatles & Other Great English Group Sounds Still Sealed Stereo LP (Clarion 601, 1966). Four early, pre-Ringo Beatles recordings, three with Tony Sheridan, were packaged with five Beatles covers by The Swallows (and one cover of Freddie & the Dreamers) for this little oddity of an album and label, just one of many labels rushing to slice the Beatle pie during the British Invasion years. Condition: Still Sealed! From the Joe Pope Archive." The STEREO version is more scarce and I have not seen another currently on Google or eBay. Not even a closed or sold one except one that went for $750!! (Heritage Auctions from the Joe Pope collection in 2013). Joe published the STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER fanzine and was the first to release the Beatles Decca tracks as 45's.
