Seeburg '1000' Background Music 7 in Original Box - Vinyl Mint - Basic - Orange

Up for sale are a box of apparent unused  Seeburg '1000' Background Music Basic Release vinyl records. This box has an Orange label on the exterior. There are 7 records in this box and they appear to have never been removed from their wrappings except of the one I took out to take a photo of. These are 16 2/3 RPM 9" vinyl records that were produced by Seeburg to be played in businesses as background music. There were special machines that these were played on and I am not sure if they can be played on a turntable that has 16rpm ability. These records do require a special size stylus to play, or you can ruin the record. You would also need to acquire a spindle adapter either on eBay or make one yourself.
A Seeburg Background Music record is a vinyl record of a non-standard 9 inch (23 cm)-diameter size with a 2 inch (5 cm) center hole. The recording is monaural, with a playing speed of 16⅔ rpm and a density of 420 grooves per inch.[2] A 0.5 mil diamond stylus is used for reproduction. Each side contains approximately 40 minutes of music (typically 20 songs). Records in each series were numbered 1-28 from 1959 to the July 1st 1966 set, and 101-128 from the October 1st 1966 set all the way to the last set. These numbers meant nothing other than an indication as to where a record belonged in the stack order.

Welcome to our eBay Listing!

We have been sellers and buyers on eBay since 1997. We have two accounts that are listed under this one – extraordinary-stuff and the other extrastuffathome.

We have strived to match the high standards set by our buyers in supplying clear descriptions, along with pictures, so our buyers can have the confidence needed to make a purchase from us. If an item may need additional repairs or is an older piece of electronics we will list it “as-is” but still will do the best to describe the condition it is in.

In the thousands of transactions, we have handled, we have had only two cases of an item being damaged in transit and we took care of it immediately. If you receive an item from us that does not match our description, then please contact us and let us make it right.

We have accumulated tens of thousands of items for sale and plan on listings until we thin out the hundreds of boxes we have stacked in our mini-warehouse. Everything has remained in a climate controlled environment and we inspect and test (if needed) ever item we sell.

Thank you and enjoy!
