Donizetti - L'Elisir D'Amore
(Columbia SAX 2298 UK LP 1959)
This is a UK original Stereo LP pressing. This is Record 1 only. This was issued as a 2 x LP set originally. Record 2 is missing. It has a front laminated flipback sleeve which has a circular gold "Stereophonic" sticker on the front. It has its original polythene-lined plain company inner sleeve.
The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has turquoise blue & silver Columbia labels. The labels are grooved also. It has 1st press YBX 13-4 and YBX 14--2 matrix stampers.
Sleeve: There is some light to mild rubbing wear to the corner tips & front sleeve opening. There is some moderate fading to the rear. There is a 2 cm area of rubbing to the top edge. VG condition
Vinyl: There are some light or very light sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. The polythene inner sleeve has left s small area of poly marks at the start of Side 1. These do not affect play at all. NEAR EX condition. The labels are in excellent+ condition & show next to no spindle wear. The company inner sleeve is in Near EX condition. There is some light to very mild ringwear & creasing. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this LP & it plays VG+ to Near Excellent overall, & Excellent in some places. There is some light or very mild crackle in some quieter places. This LP would definitely benefit from a professional clean. I believe that it would play EX+ or better afterwards.
