Item : 2 Track single

Artist : Sex Pistols

Songs : Anarchy In The U.K. / I Wanna Be Me

Year : 1976

Details : Australia ‘Blue-A’ sample issue – EMI Label # 11334

*************************************************************

An amazing & incredible pristine Blue-A ‘sample’ copy of this classic single which is regarded as the landmark song that kick started the punk revolution towards the end of 1976 in London.

This debut effort from the Sex Pistols was only available here in Oz for a short time before EMI recalled all issues and disassociated themselves from the group.
Naturally a few copies still eked their way into the hands of collectors, especially after Molly Meldrum announced the impending recall the night before on the National music hit show Countdown which in those days was ‘church’ to the record buying public. Within days of Molly’s announcement all copies of this single that hadn’t already been returned to EMI were quickly claimed … which weren’t that many either from all accounts. Those few copies that escaped an absolute thrashing at parties ( radio-play by the regulated stations in those days was an absolute No No of course) are now a super desirable item fetching hundreds in even half-decent condition.

Standard stock copies of this single have just about dried up over the past few years and even the much sought after alternate Black / White label release is now difficult to find and commands a tidy price.

This ‘Blue-A’ sample pressing on the Red / Cream label however sits at the top of the totem pole …. mega rare & seriously collectable. Add to that this particular copy is absolutely magnificent … it was stored since day one of purchase and hadn’t seen daylight until recently (over 35 years).

You will never see a cleaner example …
