Description

An original UK 1973 quality EMI pressing pre-oil crisis. Matrix 1/1 - 1st cut..! So, we'd all like a 1968/69 original Parlophone 60's copy, but they are already expensive and going higher all the  time. For someone on a 'sensible budget' - why not look for a quality EMI pressing from the same cut! "Gramophone" still exhibiting in the perimeter text. Ok, it's 5 years after 1st pressing...But the master tapes are going to be in great order and the early 70's EMI copies are tube cut and still have all that early magic infused in the grooves. Value for Money wise - a total banger! The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original cover. Also included is the generic company inner. Highly crankable!
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has clearly only seen careful light use. Under close inspection there's a couple of light marks per side...nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with one slight deviation. It's pretty close on perfect. Intros and inbetweens are beautifully quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Those lowkey builds are pretty awesome - e.g. Help. At worst I detected just a touch of faint of presence briefly in one spot per side. Perhaps one isolated tick per side. Other than that expect a super rendition which would be difficult to equal. Bang for buck - very worthy of consideration. 
Cover (Ex) And if the vinyl wasn't impressive enough the cover is looking pretty dandy for 50 years! The owner must have been one fastidious individual a it's really well preserved. Perfectly flat front and rear with minimal sign of handling. Edge wear is slight and the openings are still sharp. The spine is 90% intact with all text fully legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Relatively Unaged. No splits .
