Get talking about Shakin Stevens and most folk will think of Oh Julie, This Ole House and the likes, hits that shot him to the public eye in the very early 80’s. Fact is, Shaky and his band "The Sunsets" were around long before then .. some of his early stuff could easily be classed in another genre, having a raw and wilder format. Not quite the rainbows and fluffy clouds of "Letter to You"
Increasingly hard to find and one of Shaky’s rarer items here’s a fine example of Shaky’s "Lonesome Town" issued in ’74 on the Dutch Pink Elephant label. The sleeve has no rips or dog-ears, no writing or hard to get rid of sticky price labels. It even has the jukebox insert tab still intact on the rear. The vinyl itself is equally pristine showing no sign of neglect or mis-handling. It comes scratch free. Not bad for a disc that’s 37 years old.
The disc will be posted by Royal Mail, first class recorded delivery and packaged securely. If you’re still a fan, maybe waiting for a new release by the man himself, here’s a chance to add a bit of rock ‘n’ roll history to your collection. Collection in person is welcome if you live locally.
