Description

Sheila Jordan (with Steve Swallow, DENZIL BEST,  and Barry Galbraith) PORTRAIT OF SHEILA.  Blue Note BN 9002, recorded 1961.  Mono.  “Blue Note Records USA” on label. “VAN GELDER” stamped into dead wax.  3 black rubber-stamp marks on back of cover.  Man, is it hard to find a quiet copy of this record... This one looks great, but plays VG+ with crackling pretty regularly throughout. VG+ is realistic, probably improves to VG++ after the outer tracks. Jacket is hard glossy original; some darkening to the white reverse from handling. VG++ overall.


Here’s the fifth of about 50 batches of records from a fastidious NY-area collector with excellent taste. One owner since release in most cases. Very many of these were played either very little or very carefully. They’ve been carefully play-graded as well.  Low starts, as you can see, and almost no reserves. Bid with confidence.
