A masterpiece by Shinji Tanimura that has been engraved in our hearts. First analog conversion from the latest recording master
Stereo Sound will release the analog record "Shinji Tanimura III" to celebrate 50 years since Shinji Tanimura's debut.
This record is composed of newly recorded songs of Shinji Tanimura's classic songs that have been etched into people's hearts. The sound source used was carefully selected from the original master of Shinji Tanimura's CD album "STANDARD ~Respiration~" released in 2017, and this is a special sound source that will be used for analog cutting for the first time.
The original master that became the material was recorded at Mixer's Lab's LAB recorder's A studio in Nishiazabu, Tokyo. Engineer Miura.
The vocal microphone used is a Neumann U-67. According to engineer Miura, ``Mr. Tanimura is very good at handling microphones, and he controls the distance from the microphone himself depending on the volume of his voice, so once he decides on the fader position, he doesn't move it much, and there's no need to use EQ or compressors that much. "It's true." That's why the sound of the original master provided for this record is extremely vivid.
For recording, an SSL analog console was used, and the A/D conversion was mixed down at 96kHz/32 bit using Digidesign's Pro Tools. Engineer Miura's reason is that 192kHz/32 bit reduces the sense of power.
In order to bring out all the flavor of the recording, mastering and cutting of the lacquer disc was done at Warner Music Mastering in Minami Aoyama, which is also affiliated with Mixer's Lab. Mastering was done by Isao Kikuchi, a famous engineer who serves as the vice chairman of Mixers Lab, and Katsutoshi Kitamura, who is well versed in this world, was in charge of cutting the lacquer disc.
Tanimura's vocals stand out vividly in the multi-layered sound spread with the backing orchestration.
