Description
Prestige Bluesville 1087, "Saturday Blues: The Blues of Shirley Griffith", from 1963. The original blue-and-silver-label vinyl plays at about VG+. Parts are NM with no background sound; most has light background static that does not overpower the music. The jacket is about VG+ with light seamwear, corner wear, and ringwear (see scan); there are no splits; jacket back is very clean with no writing or stamps. Songs are "Meet Me in the Bottom", "River Line Blues", "Shirley's Jump", "Take Me Back to Mama", "Saturday Blues", "Left Alone Blues", "Big Road Blues", "Bye Bye Blues", "Hard Pill to Swallow", "Maggie Campbell Blues", and "My Baby's Gone". Shirley Griffith played blues all his life but did not record much till the early 60s; this is his most important session. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $10.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $16.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. Additional single LPs in a single package are $1.00 additional within U.S. and Canada, $3.00 overseas. For overseas shipments, registered mail is strongly recommended at $14.50 extra. Many old records are practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than two LPs together may be mailed inside a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
