Sides 3, 6, 7, 10,17, 19, 20, 24 and 25. Are EX or EX+. There are no repetitive ticks and a minimum of pops/ticks.
Sides 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, 16, 18, 22, 23 and 26 are VG+ or EX. There is either no noticeable surface noise, or perhaps some occasional light surface noise, and there are a couple of quiet repetitive ticks, mostly between 2 and 4 revs, but on side 15 there is a quiet 5 rev, on side 16 a quiet 6 rev, and another quiet 6 rev on side 26.
Side 1 is VG+ but there are four repetitive ticks (a 6 rev, a 4 rev and two 3 revs) which are either quiet, or almost inaudible.
Side 11 has a quietish repetitive tick which lasts about 30 seconds. I seem to remember that this was at the very beginning of the side. After that, it plays excellently.
Side 15 has some faint surface noise that is only really noticeable in quiet passages. There are two or three quiet 2 rev ticks, and a few more dust pops/ticks than other sides.
Side 21 has a very quiet 7 or 8 rev tick at the very beginning, and a 2 or 3 rev tick later on, and a few pops/ticks.
The box is in EX/EX+ condition - in very nice solid presentable condition with just some signs of wear on a couple of the corners.
Hard to give an overview of the condition when there are so many records, but I hope this is understandable. To my mind the whole set is in very playable condition, and there are just a few moments, (side 11) which are a little frustrating. The sound is mostly excellent throughout, and I have no regrets having listened to all 26 sides!!
This is a monumental box set, with monumental performanes from a range of performers. A document to one of the great symphonic composers of the 20th century.
This will be sent by courier, but please note, for customers outside the UK, the prices quoted for shipping are only an estimate, and I will confirm the exact amount after the auction has ended, so please wait before making your payment.
This box set comes from a large collection of records owned by a retired music professor that I am selling on his behalf. I do no grade the records visually, I listen to them in their entirety and try to give as accurate description of the condition as I can.
