Showboat       Jerome Kern, Oscar Hammerstein 2nd,  P. G. Wodehouse

Columbia  C-55     Four 12"  78rpm records with album.   The recordings and album were released on Columbia Records in 1941 and all are completely original.

These recording of Showboat are the first Original Cast recordings ever made.

All four records are in Very Good++.  No lines or cracks.  The labels shine and are without rings or marks. The album has minor shelf wear on the edges and a small tear on the top of one of the inner sleeves that does not compromise it's integrity. It's well bound, and complete. A beautiful set and very rare in this condition.

The historical importance of these performances shouldn't diminish the pleasure to be derived from them, including an "Old Man River" and a "Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man" that are truly authoritative.

Featuring Helen Morgan, Paul Robeson, James Melton, Frank Munn, Countess Albani, and Victor Young.

The album will be carefully packed, well padded and secure. Insurance is free and your purchase will be fully covered.
