Description
This is a plain white cover with glue-on pictures front and back. It was an an extremely limited release. Nobody seems to know much more than that I was able to find only 1 listing, after an extensive search, for a copy like this one [[private press pre-release that came out in 1975 ]]. And that one was sold in 2007- on ebay- with 10 bids, topping out at $155.
The more common, fancier cover/sleeve(but still rare) issue was in 1976.
Music is described as a deep acid folk with English lyrics. Themes are Hindu, but music is generally not. Cover shows wear and staining around edges on both sides, but is essentially capable of protecting the record inside. (It looks a lot worse than it really is)
The album is in absolutely "very good plus" condition....very slight marks that run from outer edge to inner ring. They are only visible in the right lighting, so I am guessing there will be nothing audible at all.

The following is completely the result of my tendency to wander, aimlessly sometimes, thru facts and ideas and stories that I run across while looking for "the scoop" ...why would this artist or band be "worth it"? In no way is this section designed to do anything in particular. Read it if you want. Skip it if you don't want. THE GURU IN HAWAII: Male vocalist is Jagad Guru Chris Butler, who founded the Haiku Meditation Ctr in Hawaii. He was widely recognized in Hawaii and along the west coast of he mainland US by 20 yrs of age. He was recognized as a self-realized yogi & master of the astanga & kundalin yoga systems. (I found this information about the performer and I must admit I do not know what I am talking about. But you might, so I added it.) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ THE MODEST NUMBER OF RECORDS PRINTED AND RELEASED As limited as the release was, 2 things make me think that the Guru was not opposed to profit....a cosmic capitalist? Nothing wrong with that. First, he sent this copy to a local radio station to be played on the air where it's "the more exposure, the more interest, the mores sales"... hopefully. It's quite likely this radio station was not the only one on the mailing list. Secondly, it was 'manufactured" in Beverly Hills....my gut wonders if Jagad Guru Chris Butler came from not-exactly-modest means, and thus could afford to come to Hawaii in his 20's and try out something like becoming a self-realized yogi....hey, not being cynical...just thinkin'. Maybe his brother or father or sister or mother owned a record company in B. Hills! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ THIS RECORD, ALTHOUGH NOT OFFICIALLY BORN HERE, IS FULL OF MUSIC THAT QUITE LIKELY MAY HAVE BEEN CREATED HERE IN HAWAII
SIDDHA MOVED TO HAWAII SHORTLY AFTER BIRTH AND LIVED ITS WHOLE LIFE HERE...NOW IT'S READY TO SETTLE DOWN SOMEWHERE COMFORTABLE WITH A LIVE-IN 'NURSE' WHO'S ABLE TO SLIP IT ONTO A TURNTABLE AND LET IT SPIN SOME MUSIC NOW AND THEN. HAWAII HAS BEEN WONDERFUL BUT SOMEPLACE NEW AND DIFFERENT COULD BE REALLY WONDERFUL TOO!
I have lived on Kauai since 1979, and this record has lived here even longer! I got it when I negotiated a deal with a local radio station....in the late 1980's or early 1990's. The part of the deal they liked was that I would take everything out of the old studio- everything- all or nothing- I would pay $50. (Funny- that was the part of the deal I liked too!) This deal was a sight-unseen one...kind of like Obamacare.... have to pass it (buy it) to know what's in it (what I'm buying). Imagine my surprise when I walked in and saw boxes and boxes and stacks and stacks of records...turned out to be over 4000 LP's....and over 8000 45's! Had I not lost my hearing in 2008, I would still be working my way thru the records, listening to many of them for the very first time!
