Arnold Palmer helped Junior Achievement here in the Orlando area. This is how I was able to get him to sign this for me.
You have questions and I have answers. But first let me give you a little history lesson. The first concert I ever went to was in Central Park in 1974. My friend and neighbor Ronnie Gordon took me. I was in band at school, but didn't know a lot about music. What little music my parents listened to was mostly show and musical theater, quite boring for a 17 year old. Ronnie took me to see BB King and James Cotton. The concert was outdoors, the place was packed and smelled a little funny. But I do remember the music was incredible. At the end of the concert James was wailing on his harmonica while BB with his arm on James' shoulder, was playing Lucille with one hand. I was blown away! I had never seen anything like it. That weekend James was playing at the Hofstra Raschella, so I ran to the record store and bought a used record of James and the band. That weekend I got the entire band to sign the album. It was the start of one of a dozen items I would collect over the next 45 years. Since then, I have acquired the signatures on more than 300 records and CD's. CD's were popular in the mid 80's and today I wished I had stuck with vinyl, but some new music wasn't even coming out on vinyl, what a shame! By 2001 I had switched back to vinyl as many of the late 60's, 70's, and 80's artists were making a come back. Today it is almost impossible to get a signature unless you buy a meet and greet ticket. For David Crosby, the price was $600 and that is way to rich for my blood!
Question # 1. Are these signatures authentic? Answer: They are. I acquired them myself, I did not purchase records with signatures already on them. While I cannot supply a "certificate of authenticity" which again may not be worth the paper it is printed on. I personally guarantee they are real. Sometimes I have pictures of me with band members and or ticket stubs. You will ultimately have to take my word for it, but I believe passing off phony signatures is a felony and not something I would do.
Question # 2. How are you grading the condition? Answer: I haven't owned a record player for more than a decade now, so everything is visually inspected. I take a photo of the cover, I do not use stock photos. If I see something that I would consider a flaw, it will be described as best as I can along with a photo of scan of the flaw. Normal wear is just that, normal, nothing is perfect.
Question # 3. What about shipping? You pay for the album, shipping charges are included in the cost, so there are no additional charges. I use standard record mailers, I will combine if you inform me that you purchased more than one record. I ship via USPS Media Mail. If you want it faster, inform me before you pay and I will add the $5 additional cost and send it Priority Mail.
Question # 4. Why in the world are you selling your collection? Answer: I recently retired. I am about to embark and a new adventure. I will be moving to Thailand soon and I cannot take them with me, and I am not going to store anything as the cost is just not worth it.
