Original ABC Radio Networks / D.I.R. Broadcasting Corp. radio transcription set for The Silver Eagle (Cross Country Music Show), presenting the special “Brother Lefty: A Musical Tribute to Lefty Frizzell,” broadcast January 22, 1983.

Hosted by David Frizzell, this approximately 91-minute tribute brings together an exceptional group of country artists performing songs associated with and written by Lefty Frizzell. Featured performers include Merle Haggard, David Allan Coe, John Anderson, Moe Bandy, Ferlin Husky, Whitey Shafer, Eddie Raven, David Frizzell, Alan Frizzell, Dottie & Shelly West, The Burrito Brothers and others.

The program includes performances recorded during a special Nashville jam session on the night of Lefty Frizzell’s induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame, a rare interview with Lefty Frizzell, material from David Frizzell’s personal collection, and the radio debut of an original demo recording of “If You’ve Got the Money, Honey, I’ve Got the Time.”

This is a particularly substantial Silver Eagle broadcast for collectors of Lefty Frizzell and classic country music. Rather than a standard concert episode, the entire approximately 91-minute program was produced specifically as a tribute to Frizzell, combining contemporary performances, family participation, archival material and an interview with Lefty himself.

The complete broadcast is spread across three 12-inch radio transcription LPs, with programming on Sides A–E. Original cue sheets are included.
