Promo Sheet Highlights

The original promotional sheet presents the program as a special visit to the Country Music Association Convention at Opryland in Nashville, with Jerry Reed billed as “The Wild Man.” Leon Everette appears as the principal guest artist, while the finale expands into a showcase of additional RCA country performers.

Jerry Reed material includes several of his best-known songs and instrumentals, including “Amos Moses,” “East Bound and Down,” “Theme From Smokey and the Bandit,” “Sugarfoot Rag,” and “Dueling Banjos.”

The finale is especially notable for bringing together a broad group of early-1980s RCA country artists on “Silver Threads & Golden Needles.”

The Silver Eagle was a syndicated country concert and performance series produced specifically for radio broadcast rather than commercial retail. Complete examples retaining their original promo and cue paperwork are increasingly difficult to find.
