Sinister 'Cross The Styx' LP 1992 (Brazil) Rock Brigade (Deicide Monstrosity). Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Retail Ground.     *the tracks 'Perrenial Mourning' + 'Sacrimental Carnage' on side A...and also 'Compulsory Resignation' on side B...unfortunately have a significant scratch across them (resulting in an annoying repetitious pop sound). This was the condition that I bought the record in back in 2008/09. It has only been played twice and I have kept it in nice dry and smoke-free storage. This is still an awesome old-school death metal collectors item...so if you're mostly interested in displaying the item (like the pictures inside of the infamous 'Helvete' record store -ha) then this shouldn't be a huge issue. The cardboard cover is pretty good for the age of the item but does have some expected wear to the edges, corners, and visible indentations from the disc (see pics). The inner-sleeve is included and in good condition. This is the Brazilian version (Rock Brigade Records) and the vinyl is not as high-quality as the German made Nuclear Blast version. I would say the comparative sound is not terribly different (the guitar tone is incredible) but just overall not as dynamic and clear as the German made version. The Brazilian pressing has some noticeable crackle and some random light ticks and pops here and there.

Alex Krull (Atrocity) should get an award for producing this awesome death metal classic!! Opening with one of the most iconic intros and containing mind-blowing song after song (Doomed, Corridors To The Abyss, Spiritual Immolation, Putrifying Remains, Perpetual Damnation, etc). This album is just behind Deicide 'self-titled' 1990 album as far as the best early 90s brutal DM albums (and that may only be because it came before Cross The Styx -ha). I was  lucky enough to have known the right person in my small town who I bought a cassette copy of Suffocation 'Breeding The Spawn' for $8.00 and he threw in a mix-tape that only said 'Ich Zahl - Nicht Mehr' written on it. The mix-tape would end up being a huge influence on my life as it contained song 'Perpetual Damnation' by Sinister and it was probably the heaviest song I had I ever heard at the time!! The tape also had  songs from Pungent Stench, Resurrection (FL), Solstice (FL), Comecon, Demolition Hammer, Eternal Dirge, Sodom, Immortal, Holy Moses, Tiamat, Incubator, and Hexx!!. It honestly took 22 years to actually figure out who all of the bands on it were (bands like Incubator, Holy Moses, Hexx, and Eternal Dirge were pretty obscure) but thanks to YouTube and Ebay...I was able to collect all of the previously unknown bands from the original mix-tape. Many of those same bands remain personal favorites of mine to this day (even eventually getting to see Solstice w/Dennis Munoz  and Alex Marquez in 2015...and two Demolition Hammer reunion shows in 2016 +18 in Chicago!!). With old-school death metal being pretty active again, it's much better these days than the sad scenes of the early 2000s...those were some dark days -ha.
