Description
Siouxsie And The Banshees - " Peel Sessions " - 10" Private Press Acetate 1977-78 A PM Record Label OOIAA OOIAB
This is a very odd, and therefore very rare, item - a part of Siouxsie And The Banshees early recorded history (prior to signing for Polydor in June 1978).
I have only ever seen one other like it listed on eBay and that attracted a lot of interest, at the time, and sold for a high price (in "very good" condition).
The labels are very crudely diy, as is the outer sleeve, and comes with an inner lyric sheet.
There are 8 tracks on this unofficial disc which I assume was privately made for the radio programme broadcast. This was a common practice from the 1930s to the late 1950s for recording and broadcast purposes, and is still in limited use today.
A feature of Peel's BBC Radio 1 shows where the famous " John Peel Sessions ", which usually consisted of four pieces of music pre-recorded at the BBCs Studios. Here, on this acetate we have four tracks on Side A, recorded for his 1977 show, and four tracks on Side B. from an early 1978 broadcast.
Track List: Side 1. Mirage Side 2. Hong Kong Gardens Love In A Void Carcass Suburban Relapse Overground Metal Helter Skelter
Sleeve - Very Good+ Labels - Very Good Lyric Insert Sheet - Very Good+ Acetate Disc - Excellent (few very light hairlines, but definitely non-feel'able and do not effect play)
The disc will be sent Royal Mail 1st class signed for, and packaged in a new protective mailer with cardboard stiffeners.
