Description
Up for auction here is a very rare copy of an 'Official 1980 Live Tour Album' recorded by Sioux(s)ie and The Banshees in Stockholm Sweden 1980..except it wasn't..it was in fact recorded at the Empire Theatre in Paris on either the 5th or 6th of January 1979.Sioux speaks some French to the crowd on it so it kinda gives the location away. She also announces Playground Twist as being 'our nouveau chanson' which dates it also. This lp was quite famous in the early 1980s amongst Banshees fans along with the Love In A Void boot lp of the 1977-1978 peel sessions.Apart from spelling the bands name wrong on the flimsy paper cover,it's the wrong year and venue as i stated above.Matrices for this lp are TPXX-A and TPXX-B.The sleeve design artwork borrowed from the single Spellbound (1981) indicates this was pressed in or around 1981-2.On playing the record It's sound quality is par for a late 1970s audience recording in a packed Paris Club..but it is listenable with voice bass guitars and drums all present..a very rare example of the Sioux Severin McKay and Morris classic lineup in full on punk mode. One for the Banshees fans and collector,of which i am a proud member myself since 1979.The sleeve is flimsy paper as mentioned, and slightly torn along the top seam and has slight staining and tape removal but nothing too bad for something of this quality and vintage.Record looks more than ok marks wise with some very slight non sounding pressing 'pits'..and while the sound isn't hifi as mentioned it's ok..play it loud and you could be there..bliss!! :) These lp's are becoming very scarce and don't come up for auction very often so get it while it's there.Any questions more than welcome. Thanks for looking in and happy bidding :) Track Listing as below-
