Description
Very VARY RARE misspressed 10” single from The Creatures (Siouxsie and Budgie - Siouxsie and the Banshees). A-Side states track is Prettiest Thing (Howie B Hormonal Mix) but actualy plays an instrumental version of the same track.
Only 70 copies of this miss-pressed 10" are in exsistance. DISCOGs website states that only 60 were pressed but I have an e-mail from Sioux Records/Hydrogen (printed version will be supplied with the record) stating that 70 copies escaped the pressing plant.
Purchased for £4.99 (price label inside sleeve) on the original day of release (Monday 30th August 1999) by the seller at the Virgin Mega Store at Totenham Corty Road/Oxford Street. Virgin was the only shop in central London to have this record available on the day (I couldn't find any in HMV or Sister Ray) as the record company had recalled the majority of them. Vrigin had about 20 copies on the shelf. I can still remember looking at a number of them and the vast majority had the labels miss-pressed on the b-side, same as this one.
The only way to tell the misspressed version from the repressed version (with correct mix) is via the A Side Matrix Number. The repressed version has the original Matrix number (SIOUX 9VA) scratched out and replaced with Sioux 9DJV

Disc – A Side = Mint, B Side = Good
The B Side plays perfectly until the needle reaches the grooves where the label has been molded into them, then you can hear the needle going over the label - hence why I have stated good (or should that be Poor?)
I will also include a print out of 2 e-mails from dukebox/Hydrogen who were looking after the Gifthorse fan club at the time. The first states that the reocrd has been recalled and the new release date, and the wcond states that "70 copies of the dodg pressing went out".
