Description

It's always a problem grading these lovely old SKA records.

They went to lots of parties.

That means that they're a bit battered and that's why many have names written on the label.

HOWEVER... they're usually cut VERY LOUD and though they look a bit rough, they sound OK (especially if you press the "Mono" button).

This means that a 60's Ska goodie can be perfectly acceptable, even if it looks R.A.A.B.B. (Rough As A Bear's Bottom)..

Please bear that in mind when reading my descriptions.

Here we have Rolando Al And The Soul Brothers with "Sufferers Choice" (which is NOT a song about Nurofen) backed with "I Want To Be" by Rita & The Soulettes, although the label credit says Rolando Al And The Soul Brothers again. Both sides were produced by the legendary Clement "Coxsone" Dodd (we are not worthy).

It's on a nice clean and tidy Doctor Bird 45 rpm single number DB 1011, dating from 1966 (although "Sufferer" sounds earlier)..

Both sides play well, without hop skip or jump, and the disc is as clean as a freshly stripped willow. There's a small red sticker on the "A" side label.

Even without the Mono button pressed, it sounds well excellent. 

Condition-wise, let's call it a VG+++ or perhaps better, and it plays beautifully. 

"Sufferers Choice" will fill the floor at any Skinhead's early-release-for-good-behaviour party, sophisticated wine tasting with cheese soiree, or nude leapfrog all-nighter. It is a little gem.
