For sale is Scorcher. A brilliant Skinhead Reggae discography and price guide. An essential supplement to Marc Griffith’s “Boss Sounds - classic Skinhead Reggae” book and Roger Dalke’s many discographies.
Basically every Jamaican artist who was released on a UK label (e.g. Trojan and Pama subsidiary labels) in the relevant period is featured in Scorcher so this is a real gem for everyone interested in ska/reggae/rocksteady releases in the UK from circa 1960 to mid 1970s.
It’s a private publication from 2001 so the price guide may not be completely up to date. It does however give a clear picture of which records are rare and hard to come by and which are not so rare. 1000s of records (both 7”s and LPs) are listed.
