Description

Sleepy John Estes LP 1929-1940 (1964) + Lyrics Insert Folkways/RBF USA NM-/EX++

On Folkways / Record Book & Film (RBF8) vinyl LP (1964).

There is a lyrics sheet which unfolds, with descriptions and photos – this insert is in perfect condition with no tears, creases, writing, foxing or other discolouration (photos).

The record has been play graded, and it seems that the original recording was not preserved well, as the transfer onto vinyl has some crackles on most tracks, but between tracks the crackles disappear completely. I can only assume that the source recording was of lower than normal quality. The labels are clean with no writing or other imperfections – see photos. I have graded the record as NM, as I believe the vinyl plays true to the source recording.

The front of the cover is in excellent++ condition – the only problems are a corner ‘dink’ approx. 1inch & a very thin white wear mark at the bottom – so thin it is hard to see in the photo (minor issue). The rear of the cover is in  excellent++ condition with, again, only a very thin white wear line at the bottom - see photo. There are no other problems.  The sleeve is graded EX++ overall.

Tracklist – please see photo.
