Small Faces Ogdens’ Nut Gone Flake

Released in 1968, Ogdens Nut Gone Flake was the only concept album by 60’s mod band, the Small Faces. It became a number one album, remaining as such for 6 weeks. It was also the group’s final studio album during their original incarnation. Best known for its circular novelty package of a metal replica of a giant tobacco tin, inside which was a poster created with five connected paper circles with pictures of the band members.
Summary: Original Mono 68 release IMPL 012 1L/2L, Immediate lilac labels, original circular sleeve (all parts but not all connected), has been played quite a lot, but plays with no major problems i.e no jumps or sticks, just light crackle between tracks and run ins – doesn’t overpower, but is there. Priced accordingly based on rarity.
Sleeve: Original circular sleeve design, all 5 panels, only two still naturally connected (see photos), Ogdens Flake has been coloured in in green on the sleeve. Graded VG-/Good based on having all panels.
Includes original plastic half circular inner sleeve, although showing its age.
Labels: Off white (lilac) Immediate labels, clean, no writing/graffiti or grubby marks. Clean clear text (as photos) graded VG+
Vinyl: The album has had plenty of play, has wispy lines and lots of hairlines, a few light marks – but nothing major, nothing deep or feel-able, there are 4-5 pips on T3 S2 graded Good/Good+
Audio: Plays through with no major problems i.e. no sticks, jumps or loud pops. There is light needle crackle in run ins/outs and between tracks and quiet parts of the album – but doesn’t overpower at any time – just there, (played on a Project carbon - blue Ortofon) graded Good+ as there are no jumps/sticks.
I have tried to be honest and transparent in my description, the photographs form part of the description. Questions are welcome, don't hesitate to ask. I am a collector of 47+ years, the few records I sell are either the results of upgrades, duplicates or a bit of thinning every now and again. If anything is not as expected, please contact me straight away and I will do everything to resolve any problems without argument.
I strictly adhere to the Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide using one + or - for addition guidance:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
