Description
The album has the Immediate lilac label and the matrix numbers stamped on the run-out grooves are: Side A IMPS 012 1Y Side B IMPS 012 2Y which according to the info in Discogs makes this a first UK pressing.
The vinyl is in very good plus condition with only the odd surface scratch and minimal crackle. I 've just had a test listen and it still sounds great on headphones. I've only ever played the record on good quality Hi-fi . I bought the album new with the tips from my paper round at Christmas 1968 (or maybe 1969) . It cost 37/9 ( about £1.89) according to the faintly legible price written on the remains of the retailers label on the rear sleeve - see close-up photo.
The cover is original and is still in all joined condition up as the photos show which is remarkable after over 50 years given its built in frailty and propensity to fall apart after a couple of months even in careful hands. The only fault with the sleeve is the glue residue from the retailers label mentioned above but I think the price in pre-decimal currency adds to the authenticity of the piece. The original inner sleeve was polythene but for reasons that now escape me, I replaced it with a paper one which I cobbled together myself. The photo's do show the actual sale item.
I am of course looking to sell for a profit after allowing for inflation on my original outlay of 37 shillings and 9 pence.
