Sonic Youth Sister LP Purple Splatter Colored Vinyl RARE RP '90/91 SST Records

Description

Rare purple splatter colored variant of Sonic Youth's 1987 LP, Sister, on SST Records! There's not a lot of concrete info available on this pressing, but general consensus is that it's circa 1990/91 based on the presence of a barcode, the presence of the Disney photo in its original uncensored state on the front, and the blacked out Avedon portrait on the back. NOT TO BE CONFUSED with the 2010 purple vinyl repress on ORG Music.

Really nice copy! LP is a solid VG+, has some light hairlines and possibly some scuffing. Has been playtested, plays very well on our system with some background noise throughout that does not overpower the music (only really audible in quiet parts and between tracks), and the occasional pop and click. It's possible that a good chunk of the noise is due to the pressing, given that it's older colored vinyl and appears to be very clean and mostly free of damage. Sleeve is in great shape, very strong VG+, still in the original shrink w/ hype sticker and original price tag. There's a little bit of wear on the open edge and some shelfwear around the corners.
If you are local to Charlottesville, Virginia and want to pick-up your LP at our Charlottesville retail store, please remember to call us and make an appointment. We are doing appointment only right now 7 days a week with limited hours... if you do that there is no shipping charge.
