Description

Up for auction is a six LP box set by Sonny Boy Williamson. This was released back in the late 80’s on the Chess label and pressed in Italy. I purchased this new and it has only been played a few times at the most. The vinyl pressings are M- to Near Mint. Basically looks brand new. Perfect and new looking shine, sheen and the highest of new looking gloss. Center labels are perfect and look new. All LP’s play loud, clear, crisp and new sounding clean.

Outer box has some shelf wear and fading around outside on the back cover. A light dent is noticed on bottom right corner and near top left corner. Overall the outer box looks close to new minus the concerns noted. Grades VG++. Includes 16 page booklet which looks M-.

Reportedly this box set includes all of Mr. Williamson’s recordings on the Chess Record label which were originally released from 1955-1964. Granted the outer custom box has some wear on the back cover but the vinyl LP’s look and sound pretty close to brand new condition. A really nice set of recordings by one of the legendary originators of the rhythm and blues.
