Description

Clef MGC-122 From 1949, 4 tracks with Sonny Criss, alto sax; Hampton Hawes, piano; Iggy Shevack, bass; Chuck Thompson, drums. The tune listed as " Tornado" is a combination of "Allen's Alley/Wee" . There are 4 tracks with Tommy Turk's Orch. from 1950 which include Leonard Hawkins, trumpet (there is some speculation that this could be Idrees Sulieman); Turk, Frank Rosolino, trombones; Flip Phillips, tenor sax; Cecil Payne, baritone sax; Mickey Crane, piano; Ray Brown, bass; Buddy Rich, drums,. Fine example of bebop by the first generation of players. Very rare edition in fine condition. Cover: Mint(-) Intact with a nimor amount of general wear from handling. Also, a minor amount of aging . Fine condition. Recordf: VG++ to Mint(-) Visually shows no wear. There are 3 or 4 light, short, surface rub marks, barely visible. The vinyl surface has a few small "mini-bumps" in the vinyl. These do seem to effect the sound. These "bumps" were caused in the manufacturing process. There are a few very light clicks. These are infrequent and are barely audible. I would consider this described noise as minor and would refer to the record as having no surface noise. I have accounted for the described surface condition by the VG++ part of the overqll grading. Audibly checked.
