Up for sale is a factory-sealed copy of A Night At The Village Vanguard: The Complete Masters by Sonny Rollins, released as a 3×LP 180-gram vinyl set in the Blue Note Tone Poet Audiophile Vinyl Reissue Series (UPC: 602458645927). This mono all-analog edition is cut directly from Rudy Van Gelder’s original 7.5 ips master tapes by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio, produced by Joe Harley, and pressed at RTI. It presents all surviving music from Rollins’s November 3, 1957 afternoon and evening sets at the Village Vanguard, featuring Sonny Rollins on tenor sax, Wilbur Ware and Donald Bailey on bass, and Elvin Jones and Pete La Roca on drums. The package comes in a deluxe tip-on trifold jacket and includes a booklet with photographs by Francis Wolff, essays by Nate Chinen and Bob Blumenthal, an excerpt from Aidan Levy’s Saxophone Colossus, and a new interview with Sonny Rollins. This copy is mint, factory sealed, and stored upright in a smoke-free home.
